There's a new 'The Devil Wears Prada' in the works

Following its release in 2006, The Devil Wears Prada was widely adopted as fashionistas' film of choice. The seamless integration of sass (Miranda Priestly and Emily Charlton, we're looking at you), style and a classic chick flick storyline resulted in our being eternally grateful for Director David Frankel.

We’re still buzzing over the much anticipated transformation scenes and still contemplating whether or not to cut our bangs. Word is out that there will be a new The Devil Wears Prada film, however it’s not quite what you’re expecting.devil wears prada

This so-called second film is neither a remake or a sequel, but instead it is being described as The Devil Wears Prada meets Broadcast News. The plot surrounds a veteran late-night talk show host, played by Emma Thompson and her assistant played by Mindy Kaling (the multi-talented star also wrote the film). The talk show host role will much resemble the character of Miranda Priestly with an assistant similar to Andy.

No studio has signed on to the film yet, but multiple have expressed interest.

It’s been a whole decade since the release of the original The Devil Wears Prada and it’s about time something of that calibre.
