Hidden Valley
When? 27th December, 2017
Where? Ascension Vineyard, Matakana
Why you should be there: What better way to kick-start festival season than by filling the back of your car with your mates and driving 40-minutes from Auckland’s CBD to the picturesque Ascension Vineyard. Back and better than ever for its second year, Hidden Valley 2017 boasts some of the best drum and bass acts from around the world. Join Wilkinson, Sub Focus, High Contrast, Motez, Wax Motif and more as you dance the night away between the vines and under the stars.
How much? Early bird tickets are going for $89.90, here

Rhythm & Vines
When?
29th – 31st December, 2017
Where? Waikohika Estate, Gisborne
Why you should be there: There’s good reason why R&V is New Zealand’s most popular music festival. Year after year, the line-up always delivers the best local and international acts, the foods not exactly terrible, and you can guarantee you and your mates will have a bloody good time at this three-day bonanza. This year, hip hop heavyweight Schoolboy Q is one of the headline acts, alongside tongue-in-cheek duo 2ManyDJs, Harlem Shake’s Baauer and Mura Masa. The second tier isn’t half bad, either, with Netsky, Sub Focus, Wilkinson, A-Trak, P-Money, David Dallas, Sachi and others across four epic stages. The new festival layout means R&V is strictly limited to 20,000 people and tickets are selling FAST (with many camping packages having already sold out!). Jump on it, people!
How much? Three-day passes start at $295 (exc camping). Head here for more.

Northern Bass
When? 29th – 31st December, 2017
Where? 420 Settlement Road, Kaiwaka, Mangawhai
Why you should be there: Now into its seventh year, Northern Bass promises the best NYE festival north of Auckland. Spread over three days and nights in the heart of beautiful Mangawhai, this festie offers up multiple bars, food outlets, and hot showers (!!!) if you opt to camp onsite (Remix recommends it!). We’re amping about Andy C, A Skillz, Pendulum, Post Malone, Raiza Biza, joining local acts Shapeshifter, Ladi6, Salmonella Dub ft Tiki Taane and Jess B at this year’s festival.
How much? The first release of three-day passes has already sold out, with second release tickets selling fast for $279. Grab yours, here

Bay Dreams
When? 2nd January, 2018
Where? Mount Maunganui
Why you should be there: The country’s newest summer festival is back for round three, and will no doubt draw a crowd of thousands to Mount Maunganui following the New Year. Originally a one-day festival, Bay Dreams is now spread over two – with January 1st marking the start of the festivities. Come the 2nd, you can expect DJ Snake to get the crowd roaring, before Foster the People, Pendulum, $uicideBoy$, Flatbush Zombies, Ocean Alley, Homebrew and more take to the main stage.
How much? Bay Dreams sells out WELL in advance of the New Year, so you need to think about tickets ASAP. Early bird and first release are gone burgers, so grab your 2nd release tickets here for $179.

Laneways
When? 29th January, 2018
Where? Albert Park, Auckland CBD
Why you should be there: Before you let your post-festival blues set in, let us tell you this – St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival is here to keep the good times coming well after the string of NYE festivals are over. Held every year on Auckland Anniversary Day, Laneway features an eclectic mixture of music genres, so there’s something to keep everyone happy. From NZ’s Aldous Harding to newcomer Amy Shark, or Laneway regulars Die! Die! Die!, this year’s line-up is better than ever before. Held for the second time in Auckland’s Albert Park, festival goers will love the food truck lane, or chilling out under the trees on the park’s edge.
How much? Tickets are on sale now for $164.90 here.
