Balenciaga is bringing back this '90s favourite

From the African braids to the chokers, the Juicy Couture velour tracksuit right down to the pimped-out Christopher Kane Crocs, 90's flashbacks are dominating the global sartorial scene right now. The latest addition? The humble slap bracelet.

Balenciaga have released the throwback slap-on "cycle" bracelets with their F/W 2017 collection. And this slice of $2 shop history has received a major upgrade, now taking on Italian-made form, rendered in 100 percent lambskin leather and finished off with the Balenciaga logo. Costing a cool $280 NZD each, they're almost to good to slap.

They're not the first to attempt to restore the slap bracelet to our wrists - last year a slap bracelet featured in the Louis Vuitton 'Cruise' collection, and Opening Ceremony retailed fox fur slap-ons for $390 each.

But Balenciaga certainly are most eye-catching, retailing in two neon colours: "bougainvillea" pink and "lemon yellow".
