Luxury meets streetwear: Louis Vuitton x Supreme

It was a bit of surprise to find out that high fashion house Louis Vuitton has collaborated with cult skateboard label, Supreme, but what has resulted is nothing short of magic.

Hailing from France, Louis Vuitton’s luxury brand is worth billions of dollars and so caters to a very select clientele. Their sleek minimalism and classic approach to clothing has made them successful year in, year out, with the LV monogram becoming a recognised status symbol worldwide.

And then there’s Supreme. The label originated in none other than New York City, and captures some of the city’s most exciting, artsy aspects. Supreme celebrates youth – the hip-hop and punk rock cultures in particular. The likes of Kanye West, Kylie Jenner and Drake have all been spotted wearing the brand.

The marriage of these two brands, which debuted at Paris Men’s Fashion Week, has generated quite the stir. The collaboration features laid back, loose-fitting shapes, but in the most luxurious of fabrics. Think sweeping trench coats, cross-body bags and silk trackies.

This bizarre mix of casual day-wear and top-notch materials has attracted immediate attention from Texan rapper, Travis Scott. Scott was seen front row at the show in Paris, dressed all in LV x Supreme, and we can see why. When you look past all the beautiful accessories carrying logos for days, there is a fresh, almost raw presence to the collection. It is no wonder that creatives will be attracted to such an ethos. Have a flick through the images below and you'll see what we mean!
