Nothing screams summer like drinks on a rooftop bar. Some of the best bars in the world are perched high on top of a building – think Sky Bar, Bangkok – or overlooking a vibrant city below – check out Madison, London.
Now, Auckland has it’s very only rooftop bar complete with a unique cocktail list, an Asian-fusion x American food menu, boutique wines and craft beers and of course, a stunning view. Introducing The Parasol & Swing Company – the Viaduct’s newest hot spot, created by the clever duo behind Ponsonby institution, Mea Culpa.
You’ll find The Parasol & Swing Company in pride of place between the Viaduct’s beloved Soul Bar and Dr Rudi’s, overlooking the bustling marina below. Created by award-winning design company, Paul Izzard Design, and comprising two levels, The Parasol & Swing Company offers not only an immaculate view and sumptuous drinks list, but an innovative menu too. Diners can indulge in dishes inspired by a new wave of fusion eateries in California and Singapore, with a focus on waffles and burgers. We’ve already got our sights set on the grilled crayfish waffle featuring wasabi mayo, garlic butter and Marie Rose sauce.
The concept behind the Parasol & Swing Company tells a story dating back to the mid 19th Century and is a tribute to the industry itself. Follow the journey through the dazzling cocktail menu, which has been illustrated by renowned Montreal tattoo artist, Angus Byers.
We know where we’ll be spending many a sunny summer’s afternoon! See you there!
