The Victoria's Secret 2017 show was hot enough to melt the South Pole

While we still have to wait a week to watch the sexiest runway show in all its cleavage-baring glory, we're fizzing over our first sightings of this year's Victoria's Secret Fashion Show in Shanghai.

All the Victoria's Secret alumni were there, with the likes of Adriana Lima, Bella Hadid, Candice Swanepoel and Karlie Kloss donning their wings and beautiful lingerie. 2017 marked Alessandra Ambrosio's 17th year as an angel, and sadly her last. Noticeably missing from the squad was IT girl Gigi Hadid (more on this, here).

A spectacle in itself, every year we are awed not only by the elaborate runway looks (complete with utterly OTT wings) but by the musical performances who serenade each model as they take to the catwalk.

The line-up included former One Directioner Harry Styles (who, coincidentally, used to date three of the Angels in this year's show), Grammy winner Miguel, Leslie Odom Jr. and Chinese pop sensation Jane Zhang.

The show was made up of six segments, each showcasing a totally different look from the last. The first-ever collaboration with Balmain produced several of the edgier looks, complete with tartan capes, feathered wings, studded thigh-high boots, metallic accents and bejeweled corseting.

Reminiscent of the kind of chinaware we'd likely find in our grandmother's wall unit, Porcelain Angels featured concentric blue and white circles, large-scale stripes, flowing kimonos and delicate black lingerie.

A Winter's Tale saw models take to the catwalk in diaphanous capes, petal-adorned wings, body chains and strappy, gladiator-style heels with bold medallions tracing up every gazelle-esque pin. Miguel took to the microphone while Alessandra Ambrosio, Bella Hadid and Leomie Anderson stepped out on the runway. Model Ming Xi recovered like a consummate professional after tripping over her skirt and falling to her knees during the segment, helped back up to her feet by fellow model Gizele Oliveira as the crowd cheered her on.

Amping up the electric hues was the Millennial Nation segment, showcasing the latest garments comprising the VS Pink collection. Stars, neon shades of canary yellow and lime green were met with thigh-high pinstriped boots, relaxed tees and boy-leg style underwear. Jane Zhang sang the likes of Alanna Arrington, Grace Elizabeth and Xiao Wen Ju down the catwalk.

Lais Ribeiro wowed audiences in this year's $2million Fantasy Bra during the Goddesses segment of the show, flanked by the likes of Romee Strijd, Candice Swanepoel and Bella Hadid in shades of gold and cornflower blue. Aptly, Harry performed his track 'Only Angel' during this part of the show.

Fiery red, oranges and yellows comprised the Nomadic Adventure segment - with every runway-ready look paying homage to different cultures through the carefully thought out motifs included throughout.
