The hairstyle trend taking 2017 by storm (and where to try it)

Although we can't wait for the summer months, we're not looking forward to the humidity and the havoc it causes with our hair. With summer fast approaching, we're after a few new styles to get us through the long and sunny days ahead. Trends come and go, but some styles are here to stay. This year, major celebs have been spotted on social media, red carpets and runways rocking braids. This comfortable and stylish hair trend is always a fashion go-to, with top celebrity hair stylists always looking for new ways to incorporate the look.

Braiding has long been one of the biggest hair styles, due to its adaptability and relative ease to pull off well. From the Jenner/Kardashians, to Cara Delevingne and Zoe Kravitz, a few of Hollywood's biggest names have been wearing braids well in 2017. French plaits, side braids and Fishtail plaits are back and here to stay for the summer! We can't wait to recreate these in the upcoming months.

Recreate these looks on Sunday 29th October, at Loxy's Ponsonby. From 10am to 3pm Loxy's will be doing braids or buns for $40 for their Braids for Boobs initiative. All proceeds will be going to the NZ Breast Cancer Foundation to support all their amazing work. No need to book; simply rock up on the day for a bit of pampering, and show your support for NZBCF!
