Brad Pitt is making a movie about the Weinstein scandal

Brad Pitt and his production team, Plan B, have recently announced that they will be making a movie about former movie producer, Harvey Weinstein, the scandal that not only rocked Hollywood but the whole entire world in 2017.

The film is set to focus on and follow the story of the New York Times journalists, Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey who made headlines last October with their story that uncovered Weinstein to be committing numerous counts of sexual assault that spanned back three decades.

The duo led an extensive 10-month investigation where they uncovered not only what Weinstein did, but also all the enablers, silencers and spies that were hired to keep his victims quiet. The journalists received the Pulitzer Prize for their work and the film is likely to highlight the investigation.

Given that there were so many accusations bought forward after the article, it is unlikely that the film will cover it all. What is expected to make the cut though is the #MeToo and Time’s Up movements that raddled Hollywood, the truth behind the way Hollywood and the film industry came to be, Weinstein’s termination and divorce as well as a number of the countless accusations made against him.

The events that occurred after the article and the extent of his misconduct that involved Hollywood high profiles such as Angelina Jolie and Gwenyth Paltrow are set to make for an interesting and exposing film. Before even going to production the film is set to be an Oscar contender as well as a history-making and industry-changing film.
