After hearing how long Gal Gadot trained for to achieve her Wonder Woman bod, we are SO glad for her sake that the film was such a Box Office success!
During her appearance on Live with Kelly & Ryan, Gadot explained she had to work out for six hours (!!) a day to get in shape for the part. Luckily for her, she'd already formed a strong base having been ex-Israeli army, and a former winner of the Miss Israel title in 2004. But she noted she has never done anything quite so vigorous as this kind of training!
“I did two hours gym work, two hours fight choreography, and two hours horseback riding. Which is super hard, when people used to tell me, ‘Yeah I do sports I ride horses,’ I was like, ‘That’s not sport. The horse does everything." No! No! You’d be surprised — it’s sooo painful.”
This routine started six months out before filming and over the duration she gained a whopping 17 pounds of muscle! To go along with her amazing (yet insane) amount of training, Gal explained to Harpers Bazaar “I'm a foodie and I love to experience food, but at the same time I look at food as fuel and I want to give the best to my body.”
Working out for six hours a day and only feeding your body nutritious foods? Seems simple enough, right?!
If only we had as much dedication and self-control as this real-life Wonder Woman...
