It's Going To Be A Mega Christmas

The Basement is gearing up for their annual end of year festive show Mega Christmas to help fundraise to make The Basement even better for artists of Auckland every year. And this year it’s a pantomime featuring a tonne of celebs across the TV and the theatre world: MIA BLAKE, MICHAEL HURST, KIMBERLEY CROSSMAN, BETH ALLEN, FASITUA AMOSA, MILLEN BAIRD, NIC SAMPSON, JENNIFER WARD LEALAND, OLIVER DRIVER to name a few... It's written by Nic Sampson and Barnaby Fredrick the team that wrote the hilarious comedy festival musical called 'Bombs Away'. The duo have made sure this year’s stocking is full of inappropriate jokes, New Zealand celebrities and musical numbers for you to poke a candy cane at. Rudolph wakes up after a huge North Pole work party horrifically hungover to find Santa missing. Rudolph rallies the help of Tinsel and Elf and together they steal the magic sleigh to go on the hunt to find Santa. Following clues around the world to find their employer, all they know is that whoever Santa’s with is wearing dive-boots. Chased by a bi-polar bear and using Santa’s Facebook check ins and location services to track him down; Elf, Rudolph and Tinsel have one day to bring home Santa and save Christmas.
Polish your elf booties and wash out the eggnog thermos because The Basement is preparing for their very first silly season pantomime this 12-22 December. Been a good girl? A bad boy? Who cares. Either way, get a crew and head to the Basement Theatre, cause the producers that brought you Christ Almighty and TOYS have begun to upload Mega Christmas, a festive panto not for the whole family. Tickets: $30- 35 (service fee may apply)  at www.iticket.co.nz or call 09 361 1000 Mega Christmas 2012
