As you probably already know, there has been a fair bit of drama surrounding Kanye West's song 'Famous', most of which is around Kanye's line about Taylor Swift, saying 'me and Taylor might still have sex. I made that bitch famous'.
In Swift’s first statement about the song, she claimed that she never approved the lyrics, and warned Kanye not to release it:
'Kanye did not call for approval, but to ask Taylor to release his single ‘Famous’ on her Twitter account,” her publicist told BuzzFeed. “She declined and cautioned him about releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message. Taylor was never made aware of the actual lyric, "I made that bitch famous."'
Taylor then called Kanye out in her Grammy's acceptance speech, saying 'there are going to be people along the way that try to undercut your success and take credit for your accomplishments or your fame' and that got Kim Kardashian angry. Kim then stated in an interview with GQ that Taylor absolutely knew about the song lyrics.
'She totally approved that. She totally knew that that was coming out. She wanted to all of a sudden act like she didn’t. I swear, my husband gets so much shit for things [when] he really was doing proper protocol and even called to get it approved.'
Taylor's publicist then admitted that the singer had indeed spoken to Kanye on the phone but was not made aware of the lyrics 'that bitch'.
There wasn't really any proof as to what actually happened until earlier today when Kim decided to post a video on her Snapchat story of the full phone conversation, in which Taylor exclaims 'I know! I mean it’s like a compliment kind of', when Kanye reads her the line 'me and Taylor might still have sex'. See the full Snapchat here.
Talk about DRAMA.
