Kiwi talent Theia's 'Champagne Supernova' video premiere

After a whirlwind 2016, homegrown talent Theia is shaking up the New Zealand music scene in a major way.

Her debut single 'Roam' launched in August last year, and racked up more than 2 million Spotify streams in little over two months. That's no mean feat for any established artist let alone an up-and-comer, but we're predicting her next tune 'Champagne Supernova' will follow suit.

The Christchurch singer-songwriter (real name Em-Haley Walker) borrowed her stage name from the Greek goddess of light, which fully represents her electro-pop-come-sultry vibes.

Donning Miss Crabb, Karen Walker and Meadowlark jewellery, Theia belts out lyrics while dancers Veronika Maritati and Massimo Margaria twirl, writhe and twist their way around an abandoned warehouse. The captivating choreography is courtesy of The Royal New Zealand Ballet's Francesco Ventriglia, and is directed by Chris Lane, who was awarded the NZ On Air's Best Music Video 2016 for Avalanche City's hit ‘Inside Out’.
