Lady Gaga, Bohemian Rhapsody, and Netflix are all Oscar contenders

This year’s Oscar Nominations has dished up some serious surprises. It wasn’t long ago that Lady Gaga was a singer, Netflix hadn’t even created a movie, and Marvel Studios could only dream of an Academy Award nomination. But fastforward to 2019 Oscar nominations, and Lady Gaga is up for Best Actress for her standout performance in A Star is Born, Black Panther is slated for a run at Best Picture, and Bohemian Rhapsody has multiple nominations. 

Netflix original Roma is up for the most nominations of any film.

In other award season news; Glen Close now holds the most Oscar nominations of any living actor without actually winning one (seven!).
