Taylor Swift's Music Videos more Popular than TV Shows

TV networks not only have to compete with the likes of Netflix, but now have a new threat to be worried about! Research by Vevo found that Taylor Swift's music videos, and other music vids produced by superstar artists, generate a higher audience compared to mainstream TV shows.

Taylor Swift’s killer video for her 'Bad Blood' single had a bigger audience than all but one TV show during the week it was released. The music video had more than 18 million U.S viewers alone and was only just surpassed by NCIS: Los Angeles.

Swift isn’t the only one accumulating TV-sized audiences. Drake’s 'Hotline Bling' video had over 6 million U.S viewers beating a large number of TV shows and Rihanna's 'Bitch better have my money' was also watched by over 6 million U.S viewers.

Obviously TV shows and music videos aren’t quite on the same level however, research also found that once viewers start watching an artist’s new song they then dove deeper into the artist’s array of videos. This results in a mini binge watching session - and I’m sure we’ve all been there!
