Where to celebrate The Melbourne Cup in style on Tuesday!

The Melbourne Cup is one of, if not the, most exciting racing event of the year. Every year thousands of spectators from all over the world descend upon Flemington Racecourse in Melbourne to spend a day dressed in their finery, watching the horses.

While we can’t be trackside at Flemington this year, that doesn’t mean we can’t celebrate right here in Auckland.

We’ve lined up the best places to watch the races and enjoy all of the Melbourne Cup festivities next Tuesday 7th November:

OMF Melbourne Cup Day  
Ellerslie Racecourse is the only place in the North Island where you can enjoy watching live racing as well as coverage of the iconic race itself. Style spotter Carena West will be on the lookout for the most impressive race day outfit, with a prize of $1,000 up for grabs so make sure you’re on fine form!

Soul Bar & Bistro
With lawn games, a relaxing outdoor space, live DJs and entertainment and a sit down lunch, along with all of the racing, this is one Melbourne Cup party you won’t want to miss! Not to mention, lunch will be served with Champagne Mumm Rosé and Rosé cocktails. Currently sold out.

Harbourside Ocean Bar Grill & Botswana Butchery

Longroom
Longroom’s Melbourne Cup event will kick off at 3pm for 2.5 hours of celebrations with Mumm Champagne, champagne cocktails, canapes, DJs and sweepstakes. It’s also the only place on Ponsonby Road with official TAB totes. Tickets are $120pp. For bookings, email: info@longroom.co.nz

Regatta
Start your day early at Regatta in Takapuna. This party kicks off at 12pm and includes five hours of fun and entertainment including a champagne cocktail bar, sabrage and live music. For bookings, head over to Regatta.

Headquarters
Indulge your competitive streak by not only betting on the races, but by participating in all of the games at Headquarters this Melbourne Cup Day! Tickets are $175 per person and include a glass of Moet champagne on arrival, a two-course set menu and live entertainment. Head over to Headquarters for tickets and more information.

The Lula Inn
Working on Melbourne Cup day and suffering serious FOMO at the thought of everyone out celebrating? Fear not, The Lula Inn party kicks off at 4pm! With live music, live racing on the big screens and a glass of Perrier Jouet on arrival this is the perfect post-work party option. Tickets are $40 from The Lula Inn.

Ostro
Enjoy a stylish celebration at Ostro with Veuve Clicquot on arrival, a four-course menu created by Josh Emmett and Daniel Na, and DJs playing all afternoon. There will also be online betting stations and a screen with a live stream of the racing action. Tickets are $170 per person, contact reservations@seafarers.co.nz to book yours.

Fashion on Federal
Taking over five of SkyCity’s stylish restaurants, Fashion on Federal offers guests a unique lunch or dinner experience on Melbourne Cup day. Trelise Cooper will be showcasing her Spring-Summer 2018 Collection with a runway that loops through the restaurants, with a finale at The Sugar Club on Level 53 of the Sky Tower!
