H&M reveal their most eco-friendly collection yet

From the streets of Stockholm to suburban mall Sylvia Park, fashion giant H&M are working hard to reduce their carbon footprint by unveiling their newest eco-friendly collection.

With our planet under threat thanks to the likes of climate change and carbon emissions, H&M is tackling these issues head on with its Conscious Exclusive collection.

Crafted from at least 50 percent sustainable or recycled materials, it seems a sustainable and fashion-forward future is on the cards for the world renowned high street label.

The fashion industry is plagued with issues when it comes to factory workers quality of life, and impact on the environment. Salary battles, poor working conditions, and zero access to clean water are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to controversy surrounding fast fashion.

However, the Conscious Exclusive collection is an answer to the above, and the initiative works to turn this on its head - from improving the livelihood of a cotton farmer to lowering climate impact from washing and drying our clothes.

Supermodel-come-activist Natalia Vodianova is the face of the label’s 2017 collection, and beautifully showcases sustainable pieces including a pleated evening gown made from bionic fabric and shoreline plastic bottles. We're also dying to get our mits on other plastic creations like the pink recycled-polyester sequinned dress and chic tux made from organic silk and tencel.

Earrings, bags and shoes are also recycled with plastic and are ready to complete any outfit in an eco-friendly way!

The sustainable collection launches in stores and online April 20 so you have time to assemble a get up of “green” garments.
