Auckland based designer, Juliette Hogan, has opened a new store on Osborne Lane in Newmarket. With Ponsonby and Britomart already under her belt, Newmarket is Juliette's third place to call home. True to the brand's style, the shop is elegant and beautiful. We had a quick catch up with Juliette to talk about the new store and her latest collection...

Why did you choose Newmarket for the location of your new store?

We weren't looking at Newmarket specifically, however the space came up in Osborne Lane and it resonated so well with the brand we decided to make it happen.

What was the inspiration behind the design of the store?

The store is an organic progression from our Britomart space.  I wanted a clean lined, contemporary and minimal look for the new store, while keeping with the raw edges of the space.

What are a few of your favourite personal touches?

I love the… space. It’s so nice to be in a store that isn't crammed. It’s a very calm store, I feel.

You currently have a range of beautiful cushions in the Newmarket store. Are you going to release more homeware items soon?

This is something I'd love to pursue in time. I'm a bit of a homebody and I love beautiful things, so there are some ideas in my head that I am spending a bit of time thinking about.

Tell us a bit about your new range...

I designed this latest collection with my most recent trip to New York in mind.  It has an urban, off duty model feel to it.  Like the store, it’s luxe, clean lined and modern.  I'm particularly in love with the cardi coat - its the perfect coat and also the quentin blouse in ivory - they both have become such staples in my life and I cant imagine my wardrobe with out them.
