From Kate Moss to Alex Consani—Gucci’s latest bag, the Borsetto, is officially having a moment

If you needed further evidence that the Gucci Web was back, here arrives the Borsetto, a new handbag to the House that draws on the contextual equestrian and becomes an immediate play on form.

While Borsetto might sound Italian in mouthfeel, it is a crossroads where two familiar words (and design codes) meet: borsa (Italian for bag) and morsetto (Italian for horsebit) fold into a single statement. It is, then, the ultimate melding of Gucci’s past and present. A traditionalist form and heritage cue is upended by a modern, wearable slouch, where the bag itself is presented in medium and large sizes, and can be rendered in sumptuous textiles, including dark brown suede, soft black leather, and sand and dark brown GG Monogram canvas.

Below, some of our favourite Borsetto silhouettes already.
