Local Fashion Creators Reimagine the ‘90s icon, Tommy Girl for 2025

Sitting at the helm of classic American style and modern prep, Tommy Hilfiger has unveiled the latest jaw-dropping Gen Z Spring 2025 capsule that reimagines Tommy Girl – a defining voice of the ‘90s – at the intersection of fashion and culture. Originally launched as a fragrance – some thirty-odd years ago – Tommy Girl quickly became a cultural icon. But, who is a Tommy Girl? Well, they’re vibrant, bold, and full of personality. Tommy Girl is more than a person, it’s a movement – an attitude that has defined a generation of ‘American cool’.

Inspired by the Tommy Girl of 1996, the Tommy Girl of 2025 is a celebration of the original campaign that featured bright graphics, vibrant colour, and oversized denim that oozed fearlessness and individuality. The new collection, created in collaboration with Guest Creative Advisor, Aleali May, embodies the attitude of its predecessor through the lens of a new, modern era. The fashion insider said, “This isn’t about nostalgia – it’s about celebrating every girl’s way of being unapologetically herself”.

With influence rooted in music, culture and style, the Tommy Girl Spring 2025 collection features a juxtaposition of varsity jackets, salt water-denim washes and frayed denim mini skirts, with rugby shirts and trucker jackets. The result? An effortless fusion of ‘90s hiphop culture and classic Americana prep.

Inspired by the Tommy Girl campaign, featuring an array of new-age cultural icons and style risk-takers – Jang Won-Young, Aleali May, Samara Cyn, Lindsay Vrckovnik, and Eniola Abioro – who all put their own spin on the coveted collection; Remix turned to our very own local tastemakers to style their favourite Tommy Girl pieces.
