This year will mark the 70th Anniversary of the illustrious Met Gala, taking place annually at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The event was created to raise funds for the Met Museum’s costume institution, but has turned into one of the most ostentatious presentations of fashion to date. The exclusive guest list sees approximately 500 guests attend each year, meaning the competition for invites is intense. However, once guaranteed attendance, stars from all over the globe get their chance to shine on the red carpet – and boy do they!
Every year the Met Gala follows a strict theme. The 2018 theme, Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination, was met with huge controversy. This didn’t seem to slow things down, with jaw-dropping ensembles hitting the red carpet from the get-go. Amongst our favourites was Cardi B’s custom Moschino gown, created by designer Jeremy Scott. The glamour didn’t stop there; this year has boasted some of the most outrageously lavish looks we have seen to date (yes, we’re looking at you Rihanna).
For your viewing pleasure, we have collated the red carpet looks from our favourite Remix cover stars. True to Met Gala tradition, they are far from ordinary.
