Second Hand September has arrived in Aotearoa
September is an exciting month for the Carrie Bradshaw’s all around the world, with our screens and feeds dominated by global fashion shows.
This September, Designer Wardrobe brings Second Hand September to the shores of Aotearoa in partnership with Dress for Success Auckland.
In an era where conscious consumption reigns, this initiative invites fashion lovers to discover the beauty in more mindful fashion choices. Whether it’s breathing new life into what’s already in your wardrobe, picking up a stunning pre-loved piece, reselling clothing that has been collecting dust at the back of the wardrobe, or donating to those in need, this is fashion with a purpose.
By participating in Second Hand September, you're not just extending the life of the items in your wardrobe - you’re supporting women in Aotearoa while shaping a more circular fashion future.
To celebrate the launch of Second Hand September in New Zealand and get Kiwis involved with this awesome movement, Designer Wardrobe is hosting The Celebrity Designer Wardrobe Sale, so that you can purchase pre-loved fashion pieces that have been donated from the closets of some of New Zealand’s most-famous celebrities.
All proceeds raised through this sale will be donated to Dress for Success Auckland, a local charity organisation that supports the economic independence of women. Additionally, Designer Wardrobe will donate $1 to the charity for every 10 listings added to its marketplace during the period that The Celebrity Designer Wardrobe Sale is live (16 – 30 September), up to a total of $3,000.
So, jump in and get behind the Second Hand September movement – give your wardrobe the spring clean it’s been waiting for and pass on your pre-loved pieces for others to enjoy.
The Celebrity Designer Wardrobe Sale features pieces from iconic global & local designer brands such as Gucci, Chloe, Karen Walker and Trelise Cooper donated from the wardrobes of Hilary Barry, Toni Street, Morgana O’Reilly, Kaylee Bell, Diamond Langi, and Sarah Stuart.
