Your Guide to Paris Haute Couture Week

The most glamorous week on the fashion calendar is finally in upon us, meaning from the 21st to the 25th of this month our social media feeds will be graced with the presence of designer gowns that look straight out of a fairy tale.

If you haven’t already guessed, we’re talking about Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week.

The likes of Dior, Ralph and Russo, Chanel and Givenchy have already debuted their elegant collections with top models such as Cara Delevingne and Kaia Gerber taking to the Runway. And there’s still more to come too, Elie Saab and Valentino shows are later this week and are guaranteed to be just as magical as ever.

Located in the Musee Rodin, Dior’s show was a homage to modern art. Bird like elements such as feathers and birdcage hoop earrings was a recurring theme throughout the show, presumably symbolising escapism. The monochromatic collection contrasts with their previous couture shows such as their Grasslands collection from Fall 2017.

Ralph and Russo were a clear standout this season, displaying a balance of extravagance and elegance, the pieces from their latest collection were just as stunning as we expected them to be.

Chanel was another fashion house that (as expected) went above and beyond in every aspect of their show. With the venue done up as a classic French garden, complete with a fountain and rose-coated pergolas, Kaia Gerber made her couture debut and many pieces from the collection having a distinctly vintage Chanel vibe to them, the show was faultless.

With only a handful of these shows over with, we can’t wait to see what the remaining designers have come up with over the next couple of days.
