My favourite winter drink, Negroni, is having a special week all for itself. And by supporting Negroni Week, you’ll be supporting global charities so the smooth blend of Campari, vermouth, and gin won’t be the only thing making you feel good about yourself.
From 4th – 10th June, participating bars around NZ will be serving up traditional Negronis, and creating their own original take on the Campari-based classic, with a portion of the sales being donated to one of over 40 global charities. Campari New Zealand will then match the donation to the charity supported by New Zealand’s highest donating individual venue.
Andrea Neri from Campari Group says the week-long international event is “an incredible celebration of the Negroni to support some truly outstanding causes. The event is becoming more popular by the year, and we’re so pleased with the enthusiasm of the industry and bartending community to make Negroni Week what it is, and we encourage all bars, retailers and restaurants to get involved!”
Here are some photos of us at Ostro trying their special take on the Negroni - infused with berries and a touch of thyme. Check out www.negroniweek.com to find your favourite NZ bar participating and then get in and try their creations - all for a good cause.
Cheers to charity and to Campari.
