Foam first with Asahi Super Dry Nama Jokki at the Gala
For the 2025 Remix Spring Gala, we decided to shake things up with not only a new venue but also the support of our exclusive spring gala beer partner, Asahi. Although when it comes to the beer itself, it was less shake, more foam.
Back by popular demand after a sell-out 2024 debut, the Asahi Super Dry Nama Jokki made its return — this time, for good. Already a phenomenon in Japan, “Nama Jokki” (literally “fresh beer mug”) offers a unique, foam-first approach to Asahi’s beloved Super Dry lager—one that comes straight from the can, not the keg.
Guests at the Gala discovered the innovation firsthand: once the lid is pulled off, a silky foam — usually reserved for a freshly poured draught — rises instantly. Within seconds, they were sipping on a crisp, draught-quality Asahi Super Dry. Thanks to its new and improved packaging, each 340ml can features a precision-engineered uneven surface that activates natural bubbles when opened between 4 °C and 8°C. If it doesn’t foam right away, a little warmth from your hands soon sparks the magic!
Unsurprisingly, Nama Jokki became a fast favourite on the night, with many praising the theatrics of the self-foaming beer can. After all, it’s an entirely unique concept to Asahi—one that provides convenience, consistency, and a premium beer experience that truly lives up to the hype.
For those looking for a fruitier drop, Asahi served its popular Asahi Zeitaku Shibori Vodka & Soda Peach and Asahi Zeitaku Shibori Vodka & Soda Mango RTDs.
