Is your new diet healing or harming you?

There’s no one size fits all when it comes to health. Our health needs are as unique from the next person as our fingerprints.

When making decisions on how best to nurture your wellbeing, it’s important to remember that everyone single one of us has a unique biochemical composition that influences your wellbeing, behavioural traits, mental health, physical capacity, and dietary requirements.

Did you know… The number of genetic combinations from two parents, possible in a child exceeds 42 million!

This innate genetic diversity combined with our individual set of lifestyles, environments, and dietary choices links us to each have our own unique set of health predispositions and nutritional needs.

Trying to keep up with the latest diet and exercise fad doesn’t honour our individual needs, and ultimately sets us up for failure. To enjoy a state of good health and wellbeing, we need to listen to our bodies to find the winning formulation that best serves our unique set up.

In the words of Shakespeare, “one man’s meat, is another man’s poison”.

Our philosophy at BePure recognises that each of us have different dietary needs. We believe that all bodies need a diet of nourishing wholefoods to thrive, but some of us need more carbohydrates, some of us need need more fats and protein, and some of us need a balanced combination of them both.

We believe that wellness is holistic—it’s so much more than just diet and exercise. The same principle of ‘unique needs’ applies to how we sleep, how we move, how we think, who we spend time with, where we find purpose and meaning, and so on. Everyone will have a slightly different combination of ‘ingredients’ that make up their ‘recipe’ for feeling best in their bodies.

To find the recipe that best honours your unique set of needs, we encourage you to approach your investigation with trust, curiosity, compassion and open-mindedness to how your body responds to the way you eat, move, and live.
