QT Auckland launches New Zealand’s biggest Staycay

With any international travels being unlikely to happen any time soon, the idea of ‘staycation’ has become more and more popular this year. I mean, we’ll take any form of ‘vacation’ we can get, right? After a stressful week of work, what better way to finish it off with a relaxing night in a plush hotel bed?

QT Auckland’s doors are set to open in November, which is just around the corner! The highly anticipated QT Auckland invites locals to explore the CBD for a chance to be a part of New Zealand’s Biggest QT Staycay! So, to celebrate the opening of New Zealand’s third QT, the hotel is giving away 150 rooms to lucky treasure seekers!

If you’re on your game, you’ll know that the treasure hunt began on the 27th and it ends on the 31st which isn’t far! Until then, lucky locals can locate special QT Auckland posters shaped as doors, where keys are safely secured within locked boxes. And to win a key, all treasure hunters need to do is crack the code… The team at Remix has already been on the lookout for hidden keys with some who were lucky enough to find them…

The posters offer a sneak peek of what the QT Auckland is going to look like - Viaduct Harbour’s newest hub for quirky luxury. QT Auckland General Manager, Doran Whaite says they always like to do things a little differently when it comes to launches - he’s not wrong. “QT is all about loving local. With a focus on our community, we wanted to surprise Aucklanders with a chance to be among the first to experience what QT’s ‘far from ordinary’ philosophy is all about. We’re spending more time in our own backyard with weekend travel and staycations becoming the norm. What better way to treat our locals than to a luxuriously quirky stay with us.”

There are 30 keys to be found per day across the five days, with each key rewarding the lucky hunter with a one-night free staycation! The secret code to unlock the box is released daily from the QT Auckland Staycay website…

CLUE: Posters with attached lockboxes can be found in the suburbs of Auckland CBD, Wynyard Quarter, Ponsonby, Grey Lynn, Newmarket and Kingsland…
