Your new favourite brunch spot; L’affare Melrose now open Sunday

Brunch in Auckland never looked so good now that L’affare Melrose is open Sundays. The popular Wellington roastery and café took to the bustle of Auckland city earlier this year and with its modern menu and great coffee to match, L'affare has had no trouble marking its spot in Auckland’s buzzing café and coffee scene.

The cafés delicious fare, rotation of locally-roasted single origin brews and relaxed atmosphere have proven popular amongst locals since its doors opened in April.

Seating up to 70 people, the menu is focused on supporting local producers – Head Chef Luke Adams regularly switches it out to ensure the food is fresh and seasonal. A liberal smattering of Luke’s signature avant-garde creations complement his take on the classics (think truffled scrambled eggs).

Here are our three picks from the mouth-watering selection for this Sunday’s breakfast:

Sweet and sticky black rice porridge served with creamy coconut milk, mango and vanilla yoghurt

Fresh avocado and pistachio on toast with a twist of lime, a hint of chili and a perfectly poached egg

The pastrami sandwich to end all pastrami sandwiches – Luke’s special house-cured corned beef on freshly baked sourdough with McClure’s pickle, Dijon and homemade mayo.
