If you're anything like us, you've been fizzing with excitement all day over the news of Emirates Team New Zealand stealing the 35th America's Cup from the clutches of Oracle Team USA.
Well, the good news is, 5pm is mere minutes away, meaning it's about the right time to crack open a bottle of Moët & Chandon and get celebrating!
Aucklanders are in for a treat tonight, with a dazzling display of waterfront fireworks taking place at 6pm, in celebration of our America's Cup victory.
Bars and restaurants dotted along the Viaduct will be putting on a show for punters eager to celebrate the momentous occasion.
Our picks? We're predicting Dr Rudi's Rooftop Brewing Co, The Lula Inn, Oyster & Chop, Headquarters restaurant and Soul Bar and Bistro will be roaring come 6pm.
Not only this, but the Bright Nights light installation will also be glowing following the fireworks. The result of a collaboration between Viaduct Harbour Holdings and famed Kiwi artist Anguis Muir, Bright Nights opened earlier this month and projects neon-hued lights from the Viaduct's sea wall.
Our 2017 win marks the third time Emirates Team New Zealand have claimed the Cup, and means we'll host the Auld Mug race come 2021.
Speculation has already surfaced around what the 2021 course will look like, but for now, we're happy to raise our glasses and celebrate this year's victory.
Well done, boys!
