Viaduct Harbour just got dreamier with Harbour in Bloom, a pocket of flowers, pastries, and sun in the city

Undeniably, the weather is warming up, and the flowers are officially in bloom. Life feels absolutely like living again. For us frequent city-goers, it can feel a little harder to stay connected to the fresh new season — towering buildings, paved floors, and, if you’re lucky, a hint of installed greenery here and there.

With the sun back out and shining, the place to flock to when in the city has always been the waterfront — Viaduct Harbour. This season, our go-to city spot has had a makeover, and for the next two weekends, Market Square at Viaduct Harbour is turning into the absolute floral garden of our springtime dreams. A dreamy little pocket of flowers, greenery, sunshine, and salty harbour air, Viaduct Harbour’s latest pop-up, Harbour in Bloom, features a whimsical garden installation and a charming kiosk serving seasonal treats—a this-season must-visit.

Brought to life for slow afternoons in the sun, Harbour in Bloom is the perfect excuse for a trip to the city with a few of your loved ones. In collaboration with Park Hyatt Auckland’s Executive Pastry Chef, Callum Liddicoat, guests of the kiosk can expect a special-edition menu of spring-themed treats and goodies, including a strawberry custard danish and a delicious lemon drizzle cake — each carrying a flavour to match the season. To complement the treats, an ice-cold strawberry matcha and a berry garden spritz also feature on the menu, giving guests a pretty good reason to sit back, relax, and enjoy.

What already sounds like a pretty dreamy set-up gets even dreamier, as the Harbour in Bloom pop-up is also giving away a complimentary spring bouquet to the first 30 people to come through each day, thanks to the talented team at Isadia. Because yes, Viaduct Harbour is asking us to romanticise our lives this season.

If you’re in the mood to linger, Park Hyatt is also extending the vibe with a Harbour in Bloom Afternoon Tea running from late October through November (30 October – 30 November, Thursday to Sunday). Featuring strawberry-and-matcha cocktails and delicate sweets served over a waterfront backdrop, it’s this season’s garden party continued.

Grab a few friends and loved ones, throw on something cute, and head to Viaduct Harbour for a little spring reset. Between the flowers, the pastries, and the sun, you’ll forget it’s even Monday next week.

Harbour in Bloom runs over the next two weekends (Fri & Sat, 12–4pm) at Market Square, Viaduct Harbour. Afternoon Tea is available at Park Hyatt from 30 Oct–30 Nov.

Kiosk pricing:

Iced drink and pastry combo: $15.00
