25 Kiwi designers team up for the 2025 Breast Cancer Cure campaign

On the evening of Tuesday, 30 September, New Zealand’s national stadium, Eden Park, is scheduled to light up pink to raise awareness for breast cancer, hosted by Breast Cancer Cure for their ninth Tees for a Cure campaign.

Established in 2001, Tees for a Cure is a campaign that has recently returned after a nearly 20-year hiatus. Each day in New Zealand, an average of nine women are diagnosed with breast cancer. This campaign was created to help fund vital research and improve treatment options—before it's too late.

Held annually, Tees for a Cure not only raises funds for breast cancer research but also supports patients currently living with breast cancer. This year, the goal is to sell 3,600 t-shirts—each symbolising the average number of New Zealanders diagnosed with cancer each year. Each purchase helps give a breast cancer patient that extra dose of support, providing access to more advanced, compassionate treatments and more accurate diagnosis and precise therapies.

Twenty-five famous local labels, including Trelise Cooper, Kowtow, Karen Walker, Kathryn Wilson, and Zambesi, will feature their t-shirt designs on the runway, held on Eden Park’s number one field. This unique fashion-on-field experience marks the first time that many of these Kiwi-owned fashion houses will come together exclusively to support women and raise awareness for breast cancer. Each label will showcase three looks, one of which will be the exclusive design for breast cancer, paired with classic denim jeans. The other two looks will feature runway pieces from their current collection.

Eden Park CEO Nick Sautner commented, “Eden Park has always been more than a stadium—we are a community asset. Tees for a Cure is a powerful initiative that combines creativity, generosity, and purpose.”

This year's event is set to go down in the history of Breast Cancer Cure thanks to the support of Kiwi designers showcasing their creative work for a meaningful purpose. The tees will be available for purchase in both women’s and men’s sizing from 7 am on Tuesday, 30 September, on BreastCancerCure.org.nz
