Alexa Chung is launching her own fashion label

Fashion icon (and our biggest girl crush) Alexa Chung has announced that she is releasing her own fashion label, much to the delight of fashion lovers worldwide. Classically named 'Alexachung', the label is set to debut in May 2017 and will include a range of clothes including daywear, denim, evening wear, shoes and jewellery.

The British fashion model and television presenter will act as the Creative Director of the brand which is said to be 'contemporary-priced'.

Starting her modelling career at just 16-years-old, Alexa, naturally, has a huge amount of knowledge of the fashion industry. Over her career, the 32 year-old has collaborated with Marks & Spencer, AG Jeans and Superga, just to name a few. As well as having a sell-out Mulberry bag named after herself.

On starting her own label, Chung told Business of Fashion, 'I just wanted the freedom to sort of make my own world, without someone else's brand's brief to stick to. That was so fun, but there are certain boundaries that come with doing something on behalf of someone else, [you] kind of have to keep within their design remit.'

'I see this being the culmination of a lot of hard work for a decade and this being the resting place for all of those ideas and to continue kind of developing and growing that, just in this one home base space,' she said. 'Also I feel like I need to get it up and running whilst I'm still young enough to have the energy and still be in touch with pop culture enough to make something that is actually relevant to the audience today.'

Alexachung will be available from MATCHESFASHION.COM
