How Bared Footwear does New Zealand Fashion Week (comfortably)
For the style-savvy and those in the know (and in the FROW), New Zealand Fashion Week is undoubtedly the industry's most significant and exciting week in the calendar. Between shows, appointments, and outfit changes, the step count rises fast—so it takes a trusted footwear label to step in and save the day, all while keeping style front and centre. After all, it is Fashion Week, darling.
Enter Bared Footwear, the Aussie label behind shoes that feel as good as they look. For almost two decades, Bared Footwear has bridged the gap between style and substance—a claim others often reach for, but few truly live up to. From boots to loafers, kitten heels to sandals, each pair hides a biomechanical footbed that offers all-day support, no matter the heel height or how long you're on your feet. But the emphasis is on hidden. Style is never sacrificed here; it's embedded in every pair, right down to the strappy, open-toe heels. Then again, it's hardly surprising.
Podiatrist-turned-entrepreneur Anna Baird founded Bared Footwear, bringing a wealth of foot-health expertise to the label, determined to fill a gap in the market for fashionable footwear that's actually good for you.
To put it to the test—and to celebrate New Zealand Fashion Week in superb style—we partnered with Bared Footwear to throw an after-party earlier this week. Within the intimate confines of The Halligan Cocktail Bar and Lounge, at Hotel Indigo (Fashion Week's official accommodation partner), we gathered industry friends, creatives and tastemakers to keep the party going to the sounds of Poppa Jax, with martinis and margaritas in hand. Here are some of the evening's highlights, captured by Hope Patterson.
