Omega’s 2020 watch release will have you looking like Bond... James Bond

In April 2020 the 25th official James Bond film, No Time To Die will be released and OMEGA has unveiled the exciting new timepiece that will be worn by 007 in the film.

The new Seamaster Diver 300M 007 Edition has been created with military requirements in mind and was even designed with input from Daniel Craig and the 007 producers. Through the process Craig and the producers worked closely together, taking the combined knowledge of James Bond and translating that into features that 007 would need.

Craig says, “When working with OMEGA, we decided that a lightweight watch would be key for a military man like 007. I also suggested some vintage touches and colour to give the watch a unique edge. The final piece looks incredible.”

The 42mm timepiece has been made from Grade 2 Titanium, used for the case and titanium mesh bracelet with its new adjustable buckle. This material is strong and lightweight, making it ideal for an undercover agent.

In order to minimise the weight, OMEGA has used “tropical” brown aluminium for the dial and bezel ring. These factors have been given a classic look, due to the vintage Super-LumiNova, which fills the diving scale, blackened hands and indexes.

Following the format of genuine military-issue watches, there is a series of numbers on the caseback. The code number for Navy personnel being “0552” and a divers’ watch being “923 7697”. While the letter “A” represents a watch with a screw-in crown, with “007” being the well-known number of James Bond, along with “62” the first James Bond film.

The watch will be launched in OMEGA Boutiques from February, available in either a titanium mesh bracelet or a striped NATO strap in dark brown, grey and beige with 007 engraved on the loop.
