Behind the scenes from Prada's latest Sydney flagship opening party—with Remix on the decks

Prada has officially pulled back the curtain on its newly renovated flagship at Westfield Sydney, a 1,000-square-metre masterpiece spread across two floors. From the street, the boutique is a sleek standout with a white steel facade that actually moves with a kinetic effect, catching the light as people walk by. Inside the mall, the entrance is framed by that iconic Prada triangle lattice, glowing in the signature green we all know and love.

This clever interior is a direct link to the brand’s deep history in Milan. You have the signature black-and-white checkered marble floors, which are a faithful tribute to the original store in the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. It's the kind of space perfect for a party—a venue that feels both massive and intimate at the same time, thanks to rosewood tables, velvet seating, and green walls accented with black metal rods.

Of course, music is at the core of everything Prada does—a match made in heaven for us. They are known for being first with their sound, usually leaning into a very specific European vibe. Remix Magazine was asked to host a special showcase for the opening, and I had the chance to work with the Sydney creative team to build a playlist that really captured the energy of the brand. We pulled inspiration from the last few years of Prada fashion shows and the most exclusive afterparties to set the right tone for the night.

With nearly 300 guests, including the city’s top editors, influencers, and A-listers, I was behind the decks DJing for half the night and then the legend Nina Las Vegas took over for the other half. Between the Prada cocktails, the photo booth, and the incredible crowd, it was very easily the party of the season.

The layout of the new space is just as impressive as the party. The ground floor is home to the full women’s leather goods and accessories collections, plus a massive footwear area with a new window looking out over the city. The upper floor is dedicated to women’s ready-to-wear and includes a very special section for the Prada Fine Jewellery ETERNAL GOLD collection, which is available exclusively in this space. Men aren't left out either, with a fully renovated area featuring personalisation services for leather goods and footwear.

It truly is an iconic destination—and if you are in Sydney any time soon, you need to get down to Pitt Street to experience it for yourself.
