Inside Aperol Spritz x Remix Aperitivo

It had all the makings of a dreamy afternoon.... the balcony of a gorgeous white villa on Ponsonby Road, a dynamic guest list, the sun high in the sky, an Italian theme and everyone's favourite summer aperitif, Aperol Spritz. Then, the heavens opened. This is not the Amalfi Coast, after all.

Thankfully, this was no deterrent to our guests, so the doors to Remix HQ were thrown open and we were able to host an Italian aperitivo, in casa

Traditional aperitivo in Italy is popular mostly in the northern parts of the country and usually involves a glass (or two!) of aperitif, and pre-dinner snacks enjoyed at a local bar or cafe.

Aperol is considered the 'perfect aperitif' because of its lower alcohol content and unique bitter-sweet taste which is derived from none other than a secret recipe. Aperol isn't the new kid on the block, however, this delicious drink has been around for nearly 100 years! Combined with Prosecco, soda water and a slice of orange, it's basically a sunny summer afternoon, in a glass.

No aperitivo would be complete without an array of delicious Italian-inspired canapes and we were spoilt for choice by Farina - the perfect accompaniment to any Aperol Spritz afternoon!

Expertly mixed by David Fletcher, Campari Brand Ambassador, our VIP guests were treated to a refreshing Aperol Spritz, which you can make for yourself using the recipe below!

How to make the perfect Aperol Spritz:

Take a large wine glass

Pour in 60ml Aperol

Add 90ml Prosecco

Add 30ml soda

Fill the glass to the top with ice

Finish with a wedge of orange

Saluti to what will hopefully be many more Italian-inspired summer afternoons!
