Dine like a royal at Auckland’s newest High Tea offering!

A new winter season brings in an aura of elegance at the Hotel Grand Windsor. This week the hotel introduced its “Vari-tea” High Tea designed for those who desire to dine like a royal. The hotel has flourished from a 3-star to a 5-star destination after renovations in 2017. Hues of gardenia colours, brass detailing, and pine flooring accentuate the affluent flair of the restaurant, Cooke.

The menu is a nod to a traditional British high tea – including classics such as buttermilk scones, marzipan cupcakes, and elderflower profiteroles. Tea is served in fine bone china from the exclusive T2 Tealeidoscope signature range, complementing the urbane scene of the restaurant.

Yesterday, the Remix team were fortunate enough to join in the festivities of the opening and while everything was a culinary delight, the black forest verrine was the standout. The offerings are a thoughtful composition of snacks to induce both the sweet and the savoury tooth, making the Grand Windsor High Tea a dining destination for all.

What is now Cooke’s Restaurant & Bar presents a modern-take of its former occupant, having been a tea room once before in the 1920’s.
