The Remix Weekly Wrap Up

The weekend is almost here, and the festive season is creeping closer. Here’s what’s caught our eye at Remix HQ this week.

Christmas dessert, sorted

Hosting Christmas lunch this year? Deli de Bossi has just made your dessert decision for you. Its much-loved tiramisu, with coffee-soaked sponge, mascarpone cream and a dusting of cocoa, now comes in a sharing size in classic, biscoff and strawberry matcha flavours. Ordering is easy too, thanks to a new online portal that also offers festive hampers and an Aperitivo Board for summer picnics, with only 48 hours’ notice needed from 1 November. The only real dilemma is which flavour to pick, and whether you’ll share at all.

Welcome back, Regatta

Takapuna’s seaside favourite is back, and it’s gone full golden-era glamour. Studio Tatami’s revamp channels the holiday lounges of the 1960s and ’70s, with glossy mahogany trims, marble counters, speckled blue bar tiles and velvet booths setting the scene. The wood-fired menu is just as indulgent, and it suits a big celebration or a casual sunset drink equally well. Settle into a booth as the light fades over the water, and you’ll soon find yourself settling in for a little longer.

Kowtow goes mini

Kowtow turns 20, and it’s marking the milestone with something for the next generation. Kowtow Mini is a limited childrenswear capsule that scales down pieces from the grown-up Prospect Sky collection, made from 100% Fairtrade organic cotton and entirely plastic-free. It’s a fitting way to celebrate two decades since founder Gosia Piatek asked whether clothing could be made without harm, with the label now focused on making better and keeping it longer. Available now in limited quantities in store and online, we’re already eyeing matching outfits.

Hospitality with heart

Eating out is about to do some good. With the Michelin Guide putting New Zealand’s restaurant scene in the spotlight, DineAid is back with its Christmas campaign, and it takes just $3 to get involved. Throughout November and December, add a donation to your bill or order a designated DineAid menu item at participating spots, including Ragtag, Gemmayze Street, Beau and Baduzzi in Auckland, Logan Brown in Wellington and Manu in Christchurch. With funds going to food banks supported by the City Missions, it’s the easiest way to make a good meal count.
