Whittaker's celebrates 130 years with the sweetest staycation experience—and you can book now
Good news for all chocolate lovers out there: Whittaker's has officially opened the doors to the ultimate sweet escape with Hotel Sweet, opening its doors on March 31st in Auckland. This one-of-a-kind suite marks 130 years of Whittaker's chocolate making by taking over Auckland's Michelin Key-awarded Hotel Fitzroy and transforming it into an indulgent stay for the brand's biggest fans.
To make this a truly indulgent visit, guests are treated to an array of Whittaker's delights from the moment they arrive: from a chilled Whittaker’s Chocolate Milk and a Creamy Milk Sante Bar upon arrival, to a welcome treat inside the luxury suite, complete with playful chocolate-themed details in soft furnishings, robes, slippers, and linens, and bowls of Artisan Squares and Chocolate Pods placed throughout the hotel. Also included for guests is afternoon high tea and evening turndown service, both enhanced with special Whittaker’s treats, breakfast delivered to the room with a Whittaker’s touch and finally a sweet parting gift: a favourite 250g block, wrapped for the journey home. To experience the chocolate in full, the hotel features a library of Whittaker's chocolate past and present, for guests to browse, reminisce and rediscover old favourites.
Due to the overwhelming response to the first release of rooms, chocolate lovers will now have a second chance to book. The initial rooms sold out in under an hour, making it obvious how strong the connection Whittaker's has to New Zealand. ‘Seeing the first release sell out so quickly was pretty incredible. It’s a reminder of how much Whittaker’s means to our Chocolate Lovers, and how excited they are to be part of this milestone with us,’ says Holly Whittaker, Co-Chief Operating Officer. ‘We wanted to create something that felt genuinely special; a little nostalgic, a little indulgent, and something that people could really immerse themselves in, even if just for one night.’
For those who missed out the first time around, a limited number of additional Hotel Sweet bookings have gone live this morning at 10 am. Availability is extremely limited, so don’t mess around. And to make this stay even sweeter, all proceeds from Hotel Sweet will be donated to Save the Kiwi, Whittaker’s longest-standing charity partner.
