NZFW Blue Sky

Atomic coffee, sodas and breakfast morsels greeted guests on Wednesday morning at Blue Sky; which showcased Winter 2013 from Twenty-Seven Names and Ingrid Starnes. First to show was Twenty-Seven Names whose shazaam-worthy soundtrack featuring Lauren Hill and Big Pun offset the girlish prints and their statement school girl style. The collection offered a lot of peter pan collars, knee length floating silk skirts, neat jackets and a whole lot of matchy matchy, each topped off with socks and jellies (sandals.) Faves included the super cute strawberry print, and bold polka dot shirt and pants worn together. Another standout was the striped sweater with a 'thug life' emblem stitched on it, the perfect touch with the epic runway music.
Ingrid Starnes' winter collection 'Hunt's End' was inspired by the english countryside, Judy Garland, and Princess Margaret making mischief. A colour palette of mustard, orange, bright green and purple complimented neutrals of camel and navy. We loved the peter pan collars, argyle knitwear and exceptional tailoring, in particular a beige check suit that would make the perfect winter workwear ensemble. A strapless tweed dress shot with a slight sparkle stood out, perfect for cocktails or even work with a jacket slung on top. ghd did a stunning job of the hair for both shows- slightly waved, slightly fluffy- but super sexy, with a little bit of slickness on top.
