Poké bowls have taken America by storm, and New Zealand is following suit.
But as per the New Zealand spirit, we make these ventures our own. Our national love of food has led the way for new and wonderful adaptations of traditional dishes to pop up.
Ika Bowl is a new twist on the traditional Poké bowl that we’ve all grown to love, and our next food obsession.
The idea began with three school friends, all looking to bring together the flavours and colour of Polynesian food, with the latest food trends to hit our shores.
Store owners, Ra, Nav and Hutu are celebrating the mixing of cultures and our diverse culture of food. With healthy eating in mind, the three friends have taken New Zealand's rich tapestry of culture and delivered it via food.
Ika Bowl opened on Monday 26th February, in Snickel Lane, in Auckland’s CBD.
Set to be our new healthy go-to, this is one Poké outlet you do not want to miss.
