The must-attend New Zealand retreat of 2017

Everyone needs time to relax. When life gets a bit too busy, it can be difficult to make the time for ourselves (we should know!). Polynesian Spa in Rotorua is certainly one of the most luxurious get-away spots where it is easy to unwind, but for those of you who want to try and take a bit of that feeling with you after you leave, the Mindful Moments Retreat is for you.

First of all, the Rotorua setting in itself is inspiring. There are umpteen lakes, bush walks, and tourist activities to explore on your down-time or once the Retreat has finished. There is a reason why it is one of the top tourist destinations in the country. With white-water-rafting, the luge, boat tours, and so much more, we would want to go to Rotorua regardless of the Retreat!

The Mindful Moments experience itself though is unbeatable. It involves yoga, aromatherapy sessions, clean eating and the beautiful Redwoods Forest Tree Walk. It also offers goodie bags full of amazing products and a discount card for the Spa Essentials Shop, yay!

Of course, it wouldn’t be a Polynesian Spa Retreat without thermal pools. Not to worry, the weekend escape also involves many an hour spent soaking in mineral hot pools and, of course, getting a Polynesian Spa massage (the best of the best, believe me). The options include the Aix massage, which involves blasts of thermal water in the aim of relieving muscle and joint pains, and a mud or honey wrap massage, both of which will leave your skin feeling soft as silk.

By the end of the Retreat you will feel completely rejuvenated and ready to take on anything. However, we all know that it is not long before we start to feel stressed again. This is why the Retreat also includes workshops focused on learning to manage our busy lives.

The workshops concentrate on mindfulness and meditation, and are led by some of the best instructors in the country. Makaia Carr, the brain behind Motivate Me NZ, is one such instructor. She will inspire other women to take control of their lives. As a wife, mother of 2 and with a full time career in management, she will be able to recognise difficulties and help women to set realistic goals. Finally, a real woman who has the healthy lifestyle thing down-pat! We think we could all learn a thing or two from someone like Carr.

The Mindful Moments Retreat is sure to doubly motivate you to make a change in your life by connecting you with like-minded women too. The 15 or so women you will be surrounded by all want to achieve the same goal: becoming stronger in both body and mind.

The last Retreat was just a couple of weeks ago, so we have included some photos of their experience. More importantly, the 2017 dates for the next Retreat are soon to be announced. Spots fill up incredibly quickly, so keep an eye here for more info. You won’t regret the opportunity to completely relax and to learn how to stay that way!
