The releases and news we can't get enough of this week
As the long weekend approaches, we're taking the time to highlight the news worth sharing this week!
Doing good never tasted so good
It’s no secret we’re a food-obsessed nation, and showing up for our incredible hospitality industry has never been more important. But as we dine, it’s time we become more mindful of another issue — food waste. Around 40% of all food produced globally is wasted, equating to 2.5 billion tonnes each year (WWF, 2021). Thankfully, Too Good To Go is leading the charge in Aotearoa, making it easier (and tastier) for Kiwis to help halve food waste by 2030 — in line with global sustainability goals. New Zealand is the 20th country to join the initiative, which centres around rescuing surplus food that would otherwise be discarded. The concept? “Surprise bags” filled with perfectly good food from local cafés, bakeries, and restaurants, all at a discounted price. So far, over 60 local businesses have joined the movement, including Daily Bread, Pastrami & Rye, Beabeas, and Beau Deli. Simply download the Too Good To Go app, find nearby spots, and reserve a surprise bag for pick-up — all for a fraction of the usual cost. From pastries to pies and sandwiches to snacks, there’s only one way to find out what your surprise bag holds. Like the name suggests — it’s simply too good to go.
Victoria Beckham Beauty arrives at Mecca
While everyone's busy talking about her new docu-series, Remix's all-time favourite style muse, Victoria Beckham, will this week launch her coveted beauty brand into select Mecca stores across Australia and New Zealand this week. With six years under the brand's belt, there's good reason that products like the Posh Lipstick, Satin Kajal Liner, and beloved Cell Rejuvenating Power Serum have earned a permanent place in our stash. Time for your beauty routine to get a little posh.
The art of restraint
In a landscape often crowded with carbon copies and viral-chasing moments, true artistry shines through in the labels that stay anchored to their purpose — those with a clear design philosophy and a story worth telling. Few embody this ethos quite like CAMILLA AND MARC, who step into the new season with Resort 26, a collection inspired by sculptor Alexandros Zygouris and the beauty found in stripping design back to its purest form. This philosophy takes shape in the Arion Top, a fluid, softly draped piece that perfectly captures the label’s refined femininity. Meanwhile, CAMILLA AND MARC’s devotion to tailoring and architectural silhouettes comes through in the Claude Vest and Lazaro Belted Jacket — sharp, structured, yet undeniably wearable. The fan-favourite Rhys Pump also makes a triumphant return for Resort, reimagined in bold zebra and cheetah prints — a playful evolution of one of the brand’s most beloved silhouettes.
