The scent of celebration with Rabanne at the Remix Spring Gala
While spring may be the most unpredictable of the seasons, one thing’s for sure: Remix will party, rain or shine. Together with our treasured friends, talented creatives, and supportive sponsors, we hosted our inaugural Remix Gala—a celebration of a momentous year and the people who made it possible, while toasting to a future defined by creativity and connection.
To mark the new season, a new venue: Mechanics Bay. Large floor-to-ceiling windows, exposed beams, and unrivalled views of the harbour and Rangitoto Island—finessed with a cherry-on-top sunset—made for the perfect setting to host a more intimate gathering with our nearest and dearest.
Since the magazine’s inception, music has always been a pivotal anchor, and no Remix celebration is complete without a signature soundtrack—or a welcome DJ appearance from founder Tim Phin. This year, we called upon a brand that embodies our commitment to superb style, fearless party spirit, and rhythm-infused energy: Rabanne. As early as 1966, Monsieur Rabanne pioneered the art of integrating music into runway shows; in the ‘80s came Centre 57, a venue dedicated to hip-hop and artistic experimentation; and today, music continues to pulse through Rabanne’s fragrance universe, with creations like Million Gold For Her Parfum and Million Gold Elixir For Him capturing the confidence and contagious energy that have long defined the house.
Both fragrances made their mark on the Gala—from the exclusive Rabanne-wrapped DJ booth and the scent samples tucked into our goodie bags, to the ‘top-up station’ where guests could refresh with a spritz throughout the night.
Million Gold Elixir emerged as a complex statement for the modern, empowered man, whose aura burns bright and is fueled by unconstrained opulence. Fresh, vibrant mandarin and bergamot open the scent, deepened by liquorous vanilla and cedarwood for irresistible warmth. The finish—sandalwood and hints of patchouli—round out this rich elixir.
Meanwhile, female attendees refreshed themselves with spritzes of Rabanne Million Gold For Her Parfum—a fragrance that encapsulated the Gala's party spirit and the empowered energy of women who owned the night (and dancefloor!) This new woody spin on Rabanne’s grand floral feels sensual and invigorating, with jasmine and orange flower bringing divine femininity, anchored by white sandalwood and decadent notes of coffee and chocolate.
