Emily Ratajkowski on nude selfies

Emily Ratajkowski wants the right to express her sexuality and is using a nude selfie with Kim Kardashian to do so.

Joining team Kardashian after backlash from Kim's International Women’s day nude selfie, the pair posed topless in a bathroom together pulling the fingers. Kim went for a light-hearted caption referencing her previous image – ‘When we’re like… we both have nothing to wear LOL.’ While Emily made a political statement about a womans right to express her sexuality – ‘We are more than just our bodies, but that doesn't mean we have to be shamed for them or our sexuality. #liberated.’

This isn’t the first time Emily has spoken up on issues around female sexuality since skyrocketing to fame after the controversial Blurred Lines music video. Emily recently wrote an essay for Lena Dunham’s Lenny letter where she addressed her previous struggles with the right to self-expression of her sexuality as ‘a 12-year-old with D-cup breasts who still woke up in the night and asked her mom to come and sleep in her room’.

Emily later took to twitter to further raise her point –

‘Even if being sexualized by society's gaze is demeaning, there must be a space where women can still be sexual when they choose to be.’

‘Why demonize female sexuality if only to keep us in the dark about the power and beauty of our bodies?’

Looks like this conversation is far from being over, while critics are sure to have an opinion on the image these two have raised a valid point on the slut-shaming ways of the Internet. One thing is for certain; Emily Ratajkowski will continue to take nude selfies and absolutely refuse to be shamed for them.
