Here’s who we’ll have on repeat in the Remix office to see us through the cold, dark months.

Headphones in, volume up—it’s set to be a musical winter with a series of our favourite artists releasing brand new albums. Here’s who we’ll have on repeat in the Remix office to see us through the cold, dark months.

CHARLI XCX
It’s been almost two years since Brat was released, and while we’re missing the era for all that it was, we think that Charli xcx’s single ‘Rock Music’ has what it takes to get us through this winter in the same way Brat did. The lyrics ‘I think the dance floor is dead, now we’re making rock music’ were teased in an interview with British Vogue, and for this song, Charli says her creative process was a little different. She shot the video as the song was still being made, which meant the song informed the video, and vice versa. Is this the end of club Charli? Only time will tell.

LIZZO
Lizzo first coined her iconic phrase that we all know ‘I’m 100% that bitch’, on her diamond-selling single ‘Truth Hurts’. Now, we’re waiting for the release of Bitch, set for June 5th, which continues this iconic phrase as an evolution of the empowerment message. This album is set to kick off Lizzo's new music era, showing her vulnerability in grappling with her past self, reflecting, and eventually evolving through learning and growth.

MADONNA
Madonna has released her first taste of new music with her single ‘Bring Your Love’ featuring Sabrina Carpenter. They premiered this song during Madonna’s surprise performance at Coachella, where Sabrina made Weekend 2 tickets all the more coveted, and the duo performed some of Madonna’s greatest hits. This track is just the first teaser of what's to come when Madonna’s album Confessions II is released on July 3rd, which will be the continuation of the iconic counterpart Confessions on a Dance Floor, just a couple of decades on.

MACEY
MACEY is establishing himself as one of New Zealand’s most compelling lyricists with his poetic songwriting and raw sincerity. Following the release of his 2024 EP how to say goodbye and his acclaimed 2023 debut album THE LOVERS, his new album ONCE is set to be released on July 3rd. We are excited to hear more of MACEY’s signature soul, indie rock, and folk sound as he explores themes including capitalism, politics, love, loss, and grief.
