Movie's In Parks all around Auckland

Fancy catching a film under the stars, well you can this summer with Movies In Parks. Auckland City Council have bought the neighbourhood event back for another year which will allow Aucklanders and visitors to be able to see 26 free movies between January and March in an open air cinema set up.

Last year the event saw over 40,000 people come along and this year it is expected to be just as good, showcasing all types of movies from new releases to old classics. Each week films will be screened in a different park and will be showing from Friday to Sunday starting on Saturday the 13th of January. One week you could be catching a movie in Mt. Eden and the next in Manukau.

The line up of movies this year includes Moana, La La Land, Hunt for the Wilderpeople, Sing Street and 22 other great movies over the summer. The movie line up has a little bit for everyone, from children’s movies to New Zealand movies and of course some old classics are thrown in there too.

Movies are expected to start shortly after sun down but there will be plenty of pre movie entertainment to partake in. Make sure you get there early to find a spot, take a picnic and sit back and relax.

This open air cinema is similar to the popular Silo Cinema, which will also be running over the summer in Auckland's Wynyard Quarter. See here to get the full movie line up and park locations of this years Movie’s In Parks.
