What to expect from a weekend at Splore Festival

Over the past 17 years, Splore Festival has cemented itself as one of the most unique and inspiring New Zealand events by embracing all aspects of the creative world. Held at the beautiful Tapapakanga Park, right on the edge of the water, Splore is a hub of good energy and entertainment. If you've been before, you'll need no convincing from our end, but if this year is your first, here's a bit about what you can expect from this weekend..

This year, Splore is bringing over 100 acts to their beachside abode, including not only music but everything from circus acrobatics to comedy. Music wise, we're dying to see Nightmares on Wax (dj set), Hiatus Kaiyote, Tkay Maidza, Little Simz and Weird Together (dj set) - to name a few, but with Splore the best way to do it is to explore! Go walking along the trails to see the cool art installations, check out the beachfront stalls, listen to music you've never heard of, try new food, and make sure you take your togs for a nice dip in the ocean. Did we mention the main stage is right on the water? So even if you do decide to go for a swim, you won't miss any of the main stage music.

Aside from the above, there's a reason Splore is New Zealand's longest running and most loved festival, and we'd put it down to the overall vibe of everyone involved. From festival workers, to entertainers and punters, the Splore community are unrivaled. There's a large festival focus on sustainability and looking after the environment, children are welcome, and it's the peak of New Zealand summer in a beautiful location filled with art and music. What more do you need to know, other than what dress up outfit to pack? Splore Festival is from the 19th-21st February 2016.
